Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of the parts department, ensuring efficient workflow and high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Oversee procurement management, including sourcing and purchasing parts from suppliers.
- Utilize an order management system to track inventory levels, orders, and deliveries.
- Implement demand planning strategies to forecast parts requirements based on service department needs.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular audits to ensure proper stock levels.
- Collaborate with automotive service technicians to identify parts needs for repairs and maintenance.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and assisting customers with their parts needs.
- Develop relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of quality parts at competitive prices.
- Train and mentor staff within the parts department to enhance their skills in inventory management and customer service.
Experience
- Proven experience in an automotive repair environment or dealership setting is essential.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems is a plus.
- Strong skills in inventory management, supplier management, and procurement management are required.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both internal teams and external customers.
- Experience using order management systems for tracking inventory and orders is preferred.
- A background in demand planning will be beneficial for this role.
