Description:
Autopilot, Inc., an AS9100 certified precision manufacturing company, is seeking CNC machine operators to contribute to our growing company. Autopilot’s customers span many industries, including the outdoor industry, aerospace / defense, photonics / imaging and many other commercial enterprises. The position provides long-term stability and opportunity for career growth. Starting pay between $20- $22 / hr., depending on experience. Autopilot is currently seeking operators for both 1st (6am - 2pm) and 2nd (2pm - 10pm) shift positions, M-F.
Duties:
- Load and operate CNC mills and lathes
- Perform at-machine part check and work with the quality lab on part inspection throughout the process
- Maintain a clean work area with routine machine preventable maintenance
- Unload raw stock and prep using horizontal band saw
- Record and monitor part production and track time on a per job basis
- Work with other machinists to identify problems and come up with solutions on scrap parts and other issues
- Help with other support areas, when needed (i.e., part tumbling, assembly, etc.)
Skills:
- Must have strong analytical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Must be self-motivated with a high level of creativity
- Strong interpersonal skills required to achieve cooperation and reach agreement with internal and external customers and suppliers
- Ability to prioritize, schedule and execute a high volume of prototype, short-run and program manufacturing jobs
Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2-year degree in machining, manufacturing or engineering highly preferred
- Previous experience in CNC operation highly preferred
