JOB SUMMARY
The Electrical Assembler III is responsible for building and integrating mid-to-complex wiring harnesses and electrical assemblies used in ASI's autonomous vehicle platforms. This role focuses on the fabrication, routing, installation, and validation of electrical harness systems that support robotic vehicle functionality.
As a Level III contributor, this position performs advanced harness fabrication and installation work, supports prototype vehicle builds, and collaborates closely with engineering teams to ensure wiring systems are assembled accurately and reliably. The role also mentors junior assemblers and helps maintain quality and consistency across electrical assembly processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build mid-to-complex electrical wiring harnesses and cable assemblies based on engineering schematics and build documentation
- Perform wire routing, termination, connector installation, and harness bundling for vehicle electrical systems
- Install harnesses and electrical components on prototype and development vehicle platforms
- Perform continuity checks, electrical verification, and troubleshooting to validate wiring integrity
- Support prototype builds and vehicle integration activities alongside engineering teams
- Identify and resolve harness routing, fitment, or interference issues during installation
- Maintain accurate documentation of harness builds, revisions, and test results
- Perform quality checks on completed harness assemblies to ensure compliance with build standards
- Assist with kitting and preparation of electrical components for builds
- Mentor junior assemblers and support training on harness fabrication techniques and best practices
- Maintain organized work areas and follow safety procedures during electrical assembly work
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, JOB SKILLS
- 5–7 years of experience in electrical assembly, wiring harness fabrication, or related technical work
- Strong experience building complex wiring harnesses and cable assemblies
- Proficiency with electrical assembly tools including crimpers, wire strippers, soldering equipment, and test instruments
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and build documentation
- Experience performing continuity testing and troubleshooting electrical assemblies
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and technicians in a development environment
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience building wiring harnesses for vehicles, robotics systems, or industrial automation equipment
- Familiarity with low-voltage vehicle electrical systems and CAN-based systems
- Experience supporting prototype builds or engineering development programs
- Certification or training related to electrical assembly or electronics manufacturing
