About the Role
You are the expert-in-the-loop on our AI platform. Your job is rapid modification of 3D files to optimize them for high throughput additive manufacturing.
This role operates at the intersection of mechanical engineering, physical science and machine learning, you will routinely bridge the gap between polymer research and live production model architectures.
What You'll Do
- Analyze high complexity additive tasks and rapidly act as the "human in the loop" checking the outputs from our automation platform, and improving them for real world jobs
- Optimize our production throughput through rigorous data driven analysis
- Generate primary data via robust experimentation used to improve our platform
Required:
- US citizen
- Able to work completely in-person, full-time, in San Rafael, CA
- You have an in-depth knowledge of optimizing FDM 3D printing and additive manufacturing jobs for high quality, high speed production
- 2 years designing polymer based parts or objects for advanced engineering (or specialized) use cases
- 2 years experience working with advanced materials like PC-ABS, TPU, Carbon Fiber, etc
Preferred:
- A Master's degree or PhD in related fields
- Direct experience managing small-to-medium scale print farm operations.
- Strong Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) portfolio showcasing parts engineered with AM-specific complex geometry.
Compensation
- Base Salary: $80,000 – $110,000
- Equity: Foundational early-hire equity grant structured at the 90th percentile of pre-seed peer compensation.
