Summary
Under limited direction of the PC&L Manager &/or Plant Manager, manages customer requirement and prepares production schedules to support plant production processes and customer service
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing and implementing production schedules on a daily and weekly basis to meet customer delivery.
- Collaborate with production, material planning, and shipping to meet production and customer scheduling needs.
- Maintain 2-week master schedules as well as short tactical schedules to ensure on time delivery.
- Prepare and review customer DOH report daily.
- Confirm expected customer schedule and resolve any issues with records / EDI issues.
- Participation in physical inventory and inventory analysis
- Publish and perform root cause analysis in Actual vs. Scheduled Production, Downtime and Company KPIs.
- Identify and Report finished good and component capacity issues based on customer schedules.
- Develop run strategies that increase throughput while controlling inventory levels.
- Reviews the EDI system which communicates needs and other data with customers and coordinates/reconciles shipments to meet customer requirements.
- Proactively prevent part shortages that could impact production or shipments.
- Prepares & reconciles production orders and issues to manufacturing personnel.
- Prepares production attainment performance records.
- Must have effective communication and organizational skills.
- Ensures Material Planning compliance with all related TS 16949 and ISO 14001 procedures and requirements.
- Prepares monthly S&OP
Education / Experience
- Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school required, or equivalent work experience
- Bachelor’s degree in materials, logistics or management preferred
- APICS certificate desirable
- Must have at least two years of experience in materials, shipping, production control, or scheduling in a manufacturing environment
Language Ability
- Ability to read and interpret instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees
Math Ability
- Basic math skills required
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to interpret documents / instructions and draw appropriate conclusions and/or plan
Computer Skills
- MS Word and Excel, SAP, EDI, Internet, E-mail
