Automotive Sales Manager needed for well-established dealership in Harford County, CT. This role is available as the current Sales Manager is transferring within the dealer group to a new location. The Sales Manager hired will be one of 2 Sales Managers at the store and will be responsible to lead & train the sales team, TO customers, ensure leads are properly handled & followed up on, desk deals, and ensure units are getting sold.
The successful candidate will have prior experience as an Automotive Sales Manager and is an upbeat, positive leader. It’s important that the person hired is strong at working the desk, closing deals, and developing the sales team. This is a hands-on position and great for an automotive Sales Manager who enjoys being involved in the action, engaging with customers, and driving results on the floor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and motivate the sales team to achieve monthly and annual goals
- Work the desk — structure, present, and close deals profitably
- Exhibit a positive and proactive leadership style.
- Perform next-day follow-ups to save potential deals and convert qualified leads.
- Conduct 1:1 sales training
- Coach, train, and develop sales consultants to improve performance and customer satisfaction
- Maintain a positive, team-oriented culture built on communication and accountability
- Ensure sales processes and paperwork are completed accurately and efficiently
- Interact directly with customers to build relationships and handle escalations professionally
- Collaborate closely with F&I, Service, and Parts departments for smooth deal flow
- Support marketing and promotional efforts to generate traffic and leads
- Maintain compliance with dealership and manufacturer policies
- Represent the dealership with professionalism, integrity, and strong moral standards
- Promote a customer-first approach to maximize satisfaction and repeat business
- Other duties as assigned
Compensation / Benefits:
- Compensation range will be in the $140,000 - $220,000 range based on performance.
