Automotive Lift Tech Assistant
Job Summary
Join the team at Automotive Lift Techs as a Lift Tech Assistant! We’re looking for a motivated, dependable individual to assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of automotive lifts and shop equipment. This is a hands-on position with opportunities to learn the trade, work alongside experienced technicians, and grow within the company. Duties
- Assist technicians with the installation of 2-post, 4-post, scissor, alignment, and specialty automotive lifts.
- Help load, unload, and transport equipment to and from job sites.
- Safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and installation equipment.
- Assist with hydraulic, cable, and mechanical components under technician supervision.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
- Communicate professionally with customers while on job sites.
- Help troubleshoot, service, and repair automotive lifts as directed by senior technicians.
- Perform general warehouse duties and prepare equipment for upcoming installations.
- Travel to customer locations throughout the Houston area and occasionally out of town.
Qualifications & Skills
- Mechanical aptitude or experience using hand and power tools preferred.
- Construction, automotive repair, welding, or industrial equipment experience is a plus, but not required.
- Experience safely hauling, towing, and backing a 16-foot or larger trailer is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred.
- Reliable transportation to and from the shop.
- Ability to lift 75 pounds and perform physically demanding work throughout the day.
- Comfortable working on ladders and working at varying heights.
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
