We are seeking an Autonomous Driving System Integration Engineer to lead the development and integration of autonomous vehicle on-board hardware, firmware, and software sub-systems, ensuring seamless operation of our autonomous driving platform.
Role Overview
The Autonomous Driving System Integration Engineer will drive the end-to-end development of autonomous vehicle systems, spanning low-level firmware programming on microcontrollers to high-level software development on Linux platforms. This role requires hands-on execution of system hardware development, software programming in vehicles, and cross-team collaboration to deliver robust autonomous driving solutions. The candidate will work closely with hardware and software development teams to ensure high-quality functional resolution and system integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop autonomous vehicle on-board hardware, firmware (C on microcontrollers), and software sub-systems (C /Python/JavaScript on Linux)
- Execute hands-on system hardware development and software programming in vehicles, including installation, debugging, maintenance, and upgrades
- Develop backend software and database solutions on Cloud platforms using AWS or Azure
- Create automation scripts for system software testing and vehicle data collection
- Generate development and test plans, manage verification events, and produce comprehensive test reports
- Ensure high-quality functional resolution through robust design and code reviews
- Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware and software development teams to drive seamless system integration
Required Qualifications
- Degree (BS, MS) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, Robotics, Controls, or similar or equivalent practical experience
- At least 5 years of coding experience developing high-quality software / firmware
- At least two of the following:
- Exceptional in firmware programming using C language;
- Exceptional in software programming on Linux using C or Python language;
- Some experience in database development using C , JavaScript or Python;
- Some experience in electronics including microcontroller programming
- Passionate about seeing your own work operate within larger systems and committed to the importance of collaborative teamwork (e.g., robust design and code reviews)
- Excellent learning skills and continuous learning from other teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in autonomous driving, ADAS, robotics, or AI mobility companies
- Experience with vehicle testing, validation, and data collection systems
- Experience launching new vehicle platforms or autonomous vehicle programs
