Our client is seeking an Electrical/Controls Engineer in Golden, CO to support customers in a fast-paced industrial environment, with a current focus in the food and beverage industry. This is a hands-on, in-office role that combines engineering design, field support, project oversight, and collaboration with automation teams. The ideal candidate brings strong electrical design experience, practical field awareness, and a passion for supporting complex industrial systems.
Key Responsibilities
Industrial Control & Power Design
- Design industrial control panels, PLC panel wiring layouts, and motor control schematics.
- Develop AutoCAD drawings including control schematics, panel layouts, and one-line diagrams.
- Size power feeders and support broader power distribution design needs.
- Apply electrical codes and standards including NEC and NFPA 70E.
- Specify and review materials to ensure proper equipment selection and project execution.
Field / Site Services
- Perform onsite investigations of existing infrastructure to support upgrade and expansion projects.
- Verify field conditions and ensure design feasibility.
- Support system startup and commissioning activities.
Project Collaboration & Oversight
- Collaborate closely with controls and automation engineers to ensure proper system integration.
- Oversee electrical construction and installation activities to ensure adherence to design specifications, standards, and safety requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE required)
- Minimum of 3 years of industrial electrical or controls engineering experience
- Experience within industrial environments; food & beverage exposure is a strong plus
- Familiarity with SKM or ETAP software preferred
- Experience with arc flash studies and/or relay coordination is a plus
