Duties
- Operate CNC machines such as lathes, mills, and grinders, utilizing Fanuc or similar control systems to produce precise parts according to technical drawings and specifications
- Set up machining tools, fixtures, and tooling to ensure accurate machining processes
- Interpret mechanical blueprints and engineering drawings accurately using GD&T principles for quality assurance
- Program CNC machines using G-code and M-code languages; modify programs as needed for different jobs
- Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement instruments to verify part dimensions
- Conduct machine setup, calibration, and troubleshooting to optimize manufacturing efficiency
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and properly handling power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and grinding machines
Requirements
- Proven experience in CNC machining, manual machining, or both within a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code; experience with Fanuc controls is preferred
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD/CAM files (SolidWorks, CAD) for accurate part fabrication
- Familiarity with measurement tools including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines for quality control
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret blueprints and mechanical blueprints accurately
- Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and machine offsets
- Experience with tooling setup, machine calibration, and troubleshooting CNC or manual machines
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as metal machining, plastics injection molding, welding, and grinding is advantageous
- Ability to operate forklifts and power tools safely; certification preferred but not required
