Machinist

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining various machining equipment to produce precision metal components. Your expertise in CNC and manual machining, along with your strong mechanical knowledge, will ensure the highest quality standards are met in a fast-paced environment. Duties

• Operate CNC machines such as lathes, mills, and grinders, utilizing Fanuc or similar control systems to produce precise parts according to technical drawings and specifications
• Set up machining tools, fixtures, and tooling to ensure accurate machining processes
• Interpret mechanical blueprints and engineering drawings accurately using GD&T principles for quality assurance
• Program CNC machines using G-code and M-code languages; modify programs as needed for different jobs
• Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement instruments to verify part dimensions
• Conduct machine setup, calibration, and troubleshooting to optimize manufacturing efficiency
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and properly handling power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and grinding machines

Requirements

• Proven experience in CNC machining, manual machining, or both within a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code; experience with Fanuc controls is preferred
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD/CAM files (SolidWorks, CAD) for accurate part fabrication
• Familiarity with measurement tools including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines for quality control
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret blueprints and mechanical blueprints accurately
• Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and machine offsets
• Experience with tooling setup, machine calibration, and troubleshooting CNC or manual machines
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as metal machining, plastics injection molding, welding, and grinding is advantageous
• Ability to operate forklifts and power tools safely; certification preferred but not required
