Position Summary

The Quality Test Technician is responsible for performing inspections, testing, and verification activities to ensure products meet customer specifications, engineering requirements, company standards, and regulatory requirements. This position performs electrical, functional, and quality testing on products throughout the manufacturing process to ensure customer expectations are achieved.

The Quality Test Technician plays a critical role in supporting product quality, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence by identifying quality concerns, documenting results, and collaborating with Operations and Engineering teams to resolve issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical, functional, and quality testing of products in accordance with established procedures, engineering specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, bills of material, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Inspect products and assemblies to verify conformance to quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Utilize testing equipment, measuring devices, and inspection tools to verify product functionality and quality.
  • Document testing results, inspection findings, and quality records accurately and completely.
  • Identify, document, and report nonconforming materials, products, and quality concerns.
  • Troubleshoot product issues and assist in identifying root causes of failures and defects.
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality personnel to resolve quality and testing issues.
  • Verify corrective actions have been implemented and are effective.
  • Ensure all testing equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and used according to established procedures.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality and process improvements.
  • Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and customer witness testing activities as required.
  • Assist with internal audits, customer audits, and quality system activities as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment consistent with 5S principles.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
  • Participate in cross-training activities to support operational flexibility.
  • Support production schedules and customer commitments by completing testing activities in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology, Manufacturing, Quality, or related technical field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing, quality, testing, or assembly experience preferred.
  • Experience performing electrical, functional, or quality testing in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing, automation, controls, or engineered-to-order environments strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, and work instructions required.
  • Experience using testing equipment, measuring devices, and quality tools preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with manufacturing or quality systems preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Primarily manufacturing floor and testing environments.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and working at a workstation.
  • Ability to regularly use testing equipment, hand tools, and computer systems.
  • Ability to occasionally lift equipment, products, or materials weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to distinguish colors, read detailed documentation, and inspect products accurately.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to safely work around manufacturing equipment while adhering to all safety requirements.

Salary : $48,173 - $62,935
