What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing Manager position at Automated Marketing Group?
Location: Denver Metro Area
Job Type: Full-Time, primarily in-office
Salary: $85,000–$105,000, depending on experience
About the Company
We run a marketing agency with a 25 year track record of producing measurable results for our clients. We need a director who can run the operation: own the client delivery calendar, hold vendors and employees accountable to real numbers, review work before it ships, and build the processes (including AI-driven ones) that make it faster and better every quarter.
This is not a "set the vision and delegate" role, and it's not a production seat either. It's the layer in between that most agencies get wrong: someone who directs the work, measures everything, and holds the standard.
If you read that and thought "finally, someone gets it"…keep reading. If you were hoping to spend your days in brainstorm meetings, this isn't your job.
The Role
We are looking for a hands-on Marketing Manager to oversee the execution and delivery of AMG's core marketing services.
This person will keep the work organized, hold internal teams and outside partners accountable, protect the quality of our work and client experience, and make sure client deliverables move from start to finish.
What You'll Own
- Client Deliverables: Manage timelines, approvals, handoffs, quality control, and follow-through across our marketing services.
- Direct Mail: Oversee our in-house direct mail process and ensure information, proofs, approvals, production, and delivery are accurate and on time.
- SEO, PPC & Websites: Manage vetted white-label partners and outside specialists while maintaining internal ownership of scope, quality, communication, and results.
- Vendor Management: Hold outside partners accountable to expectations, deadlines, performance, confidentiality, and our white-label model.
- Process & Accountability: Document workflows, improve broken handoffs, clarify ownership, track performance, and make sure work does not live only in someone's inbox or memory.
- Client Communication & QA: Serve as a trusted point of connection between clients, vendors, internal teams, and technology. You will interact directly with clients and take ownership of ensuring their experience reflects the level of excellence we expect in everything we deliver, exceeding what they have come to expect from other marketing companies or professionals. AI can support the work, but final communication, judgment, and quality require a human touch.
What We're Looking For
- Highly organized and process-driven. You bring structure to moving pieces and do not let important work fall through the cracks.
- Strong communicator. You communicate clearly in writing and verbally and are warm, confident, and professional when working with clients and teammates.
- Ownership mindset. You take responsibility for outcomes, follow through, and do not wait for someone else to chase down the next step.
- Calm under pressure. You can manage multiple projects, vendors, deadlines, and shifting priorities while continuing to make sound decisions.
- Excellence as the standard. Excellence is the minimum acceptable standard for everything our clients and their customers receive. You have exceptional attention to detail and naturally catch what others miss.
- Data-minded. You use performance metrics and facts to understand what is working, identify problems, and make better decisions
- High integrity and reliability. You are trustworthy, discreet, consistent, and willing to be transparent when something is not going as planned.
- Curious and coachable. You ask questions, seek to understand how and why things work, and are willing to continuously learn our products, services, clients, and processes.
- Comfortable with technology. You have a practical understanding of AI, automation, and modern marketing tools and know how to use them to improve efficiency without replacing judgment or accountability.
Experience
- 5 years in marketing, agency operations, project management, or client delivery
- 2 years managing people, vendors, projects, or deliverables
- Agency experience strongly preferred
- Experience with direct mail, SEO/PPC, websites, or white-label services preferred
- Experience improving and documenting processes
What This Role Is Not
This is not a pure creative role or primarily a Client Development/Account Management role.
You are not expected to personally design every piece, write every piece of copy, build every website, or execute every campaign.
Your job is to make sure the right work gets done by the right people, on time, to the right standard, with clear accountability, while helping ensure our clients receive an exceptional experience.
How to Apply
Apply with your resume and a short note, five sentences or fewer, describing one process or delivery problem you improved, what you measured, and what changed.
Applications submitted without the short note will not be reviewed.
We're excited to meet you.
