This role is a three-part hybrid: escalated (Tier 2 ) technical support, hands-on collaboration and management of client projects, and virtual CIO (vCIO) responsibilities - including scheduling and, for assigned accounts, independently leading Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs). It is designed as a growth track: the person in this seat will take ownership of a defined set of client accounts and projects, working alongside ABT's IT Project Managers and Senior vCIOs rather than simply reporting into the helpdesk queue.This hybrid role integrates essential functions within ABT's Managed IT Services division: vCIO leadership, onboarding support, supplemental helpdesk ticket support, and project assistance. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide vCIO services to Managed IT clients, ensuring strategic technology alignment, proactive guidance, and high-quality service delivery.The position is also responsible for supporting all new client onboarding projects, ensuring smooth transitions and proper implementation of ABT standards. Additionally, this role assists in Managed IT Services projects as assigned. As a vCIO, the role provides ongoing strategic technology guidance, budgeting, roadmapping, and advisory services while contributing to the overall quality of service delivery.Essential Duties and Responsibilities•Serve as the primary vCIO for assigned Managed IT Services clients•Provide strategic IT guidance, budgeting, and technology roadmaps•Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and present to stakeholders•Align IT initiatives with client business goals and long-term planning•Identify risks, gaps, and opportunities for improvement within client environments•Provide onboarding support for all new Managed IT Services clients, includingcoordination, documentation, and implementation of ABT standards•Lead and assist in onboarding meetings, discovery, and deployment activities•Ensure smooth transition from sales to service delivery•Assist in Managed IT Services projects as assigned, including infrastructure upgrades,cloud migrations, security deployments, and system implementations•Collaborate with internal and external resources to ensure timely delivery of project objectives•Maintain documentation for client environments, configurations, and onboarding notes•Collaborate with ABT teams to ensure clients receive proactive, high-value IT guidance•Provide direct support for escalated issues requiring advanced troubleshooting•Assist with technical issues related to Microsoft 365, Azure, servers, backups, networking, endpoint security, and workstation environments•Identify patterns in recurring issues and recommend operational or technical improvements•Maintain and update documentation within IT Glue, including SOPs, runbooks, and knowledge base articles•Deliver professional and clear communication to clients during escalations, onboarding, and project work•Maintain expert-level knowledge of ABT's Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) offerings, including SIEM, EDR, Security Awareness Training, and Email Filtering•Maintain proficiency with ABT's Backup & Disaster Recovery tools such as Axcient, Acronis, SaaS Backup, and ConnectWise Continuity•Maintain proficiency in all ABT Core Managed IT Services, including Microsoft 365 administration, patching, endpoint security, and workstation/server supportMinimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)Technical & Professional Requirements:•Experience working in an MSP environment required.•3-5 years of IT support, systems administration, or Help Desk experience.•Strong understanding of:oMicrosoft 365 / Azure & Entra IDoActive DirectoryoWindows ServeroNetworking (DNS, DHCP, VPN, Firewalls)oCybersecurity tools and frameworks•Experience with RMM/PSA systems such as ConnectWise, N-central, Datto, or Kaseya.•Strong project management abilities, including scoping, planning, scheduling, and resource coordination.•Ability to translate technical recommendations into business value.•Strong client-facing communication skills including presenting to executives.Recommended Certifications (Not Required):•ITIL 4 Foundation•CompTIA Security •Microsoft 365 Administrator (MS-102)•Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ-104)•CompTIA Network •CompTIA Project or PMP/CAPM•Microsoft SC-200•TruMethods vCIO Training or equivalentSoft Skills:•Exceptional written and verbal communication.•High-level problem-solving and analytical skills.•Strong organization and ability to manage multiple priorities.•Ability to maintain long-term trust-based client relationships.•Self-motivated, adaptable, and proactive.
