As an Automotive Wheel Repair and Refinish Technician, you will play a key role in restoring and enhancing the appearance of vehicle wheels by applying high-quality finishes. This position requires precision and attention to detail to ensure every wheel meets or exceeds manufacturer standards for color matching, surface preparation, and durability.
As an Automotive Wheel Repair and Refinish Technician with Autobahn Fort Worth, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing wheels for refinishing by sanding, masking, and cleaning surfaces
- Mixing and matching paint colors accurately to achieve seamless finishes
- Applying powder coatings, primers, base coats, and clear coats using spray guns and related equipment
- Inspecting finished work for quality and performing touch-ups as needed
- Maintaining and cleaning equipment and work areas to meet safety and environmental standards
- Collaborating with the repair team to ensure timely completion of projects
- Keeping accurate records of materials used and work performed for inventory and quality control
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in wheel repair and refinishing or similar automotive paint roles preferred
- Knowledge of powder coating, primers, base coats, and clear coats
- Ability to operate spray painting equipment and related tools safely and effectively
- Familiarity with safety procedures and environmental regulations
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Professional, well-groomed personal appearance
- Clean driving record & valid driver’s license (if required for position)
- Willing to submit and pass pre-employment background check and drug screen
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with computerized paint mixing systems
- Advanced color matching techniques and understanding of color theory
- Previous experience in a high-volume automotive repair or collision center
- Basic mechanical skills for minor vehicle preparation tasks
- Bilingual
