Distribution Center - General Manager
About the Role:
Auto-Wares is seeking a hands-on, results-driven Distribution Center General Manager to lead operations, people, and performance at one of our high-volume distribution centers. This leader ensures exceptional service to our customers, operational excellence, and a culture that reflects our purpose, vision, and values.
What You’ll Do:
Lead Daily Operations
- Oversee all warehouse functions: receiving, put-away, picking, shipping, returns, dock, pickup/express, and route support.
- Ensure orders ship accurately and on time through effective planning and resource allocation.
- Drive productivity, inventory accuracy, and continuous improvement using data metrics.
Develop and Lead a High-Performing Team
- Recruit, hire, train, and coach team members and leaders.
- Build bench strength and ensure consistent execution of standard work.
- Conduct performance reviews and create development plans.
Own Safety, Compliance & Facility Standards
- Enforce operational, safety, and personnel policies.
- Maintain a clean, safe, secure facility and review security plans annually.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
Manage Financial & Business Performance
- Develop and manage the DC budget with the VP of Distribution.
- Review financial and operational metrics; take corrective action when needed.
- Recommend facility improvements, equipment, and resource needs.
Deliver Outstanding Customer Service
- Ensure timely, accurate order fulfillment and route performance.
- Resolve customer issues quickly and drive root-cause solutions.
- Maintain strong communication with Warehouse Managers, Shift Managers, and Distribution leadership
