Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of damaged vehicles to assess repair needs, including auto body repair, frame straightening, paint work, and mechanical components.
- Prepare detailed and accurate repair estimates using advanced auto estimating software, ensuring all necessary repairs are accounted for.
- Communicate clearly with customers to explain repair procedures, costs, and timelines while providing outstanding customer service.
- Collaborate with insurance adjusters to facilitate smooth claims processing and ensure estimates align with insurance requirements.
- Coordinate with technicians and parts departments to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of work.
- Assist in upselling additional services such as oil changes, tire services, alignments, suspension work, brake repairs, shocks & struts, air brake systems, diesel engine repairs, transmissions, and other automotive diagnostics.
- Maintain detailed records of all estimates, repair orders, and customer interactions while ensuring compliance with company policies.
Experience
- Proven experience as an Auto Body Estimator or in a similar role within a dealership or automotive repair shop.
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Familiarity with auto estimating software and service writing systems.
- Hands-on experience with auto service management including collision repair processes and mechanical repairs such as oil changes, brake repairs, suspension work, tire services, and transmission diagnostics.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally.
