Auto-Owners Insurance, a top-rated insurance carrier, is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as an experienced PIP Claims Representative. The position requires the following but is not limited to
- Investigate and assemble facts, determine policy coverage, evaluate the amount of loss, and pay benefits that are owed.
- Review medical bills, authorize payments and ensure payments are issued in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with the Michigan No Fault Statute.
- Work toward the resolution of claims, and attend arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials as necessary.
- Service the needs of agents, policyholders and others.
- Handle investigations by phone and mail.
- Conduct claim investigations on complex claims.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Two or more years of insurance claims handling experience, preferably in PIP claims or related experience.
- Educational coursework in insurance are desirable.
- Above average communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to resolve complex issues.
- Organize and interpret data.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments with attention to detail.
