Duties
- Greet customers warmly and listen carefully to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and communicate findings clearly to customers
- Prepare detailed repair estimates using estimating software, including parts, labor, and additional services
- Upsell recommended services and maintenance to enhance vehicle performance and safety
- Coordinate with technicians on diagnostics, repairs, and parts availability to ensure timely completion of work
- Write service orders and maintain accurate documentation of all customer interactions and vehicle repairs
- Manage customer follow-ups, ensuring satisfaction and building long-term relationships
- Handle cash transactions, process payments accurately, and maintain financial records
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Service Advisor or in a similar auto service management role within a dealership or independent shop
- Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in automotive diagnostics, transmissions, oil changes, brake repair, suspension, tire service, diesel engine repair, shocks & struts, air brake systems, alignment, collision repair, and auto body repair
- Proficiency with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
- Dealership experience is highly preferred; familiarity with auto estimating and service writing is a plus
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and confidently manage client communication
- Knowledge of automotive repair procedures including oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, suspension work, and diesel engine diagnostics
- Mechanical experience or background as a service technician is advantageous for understanding repairs and diagnostics
