Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicle surfaces by sanding, masking, and cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality
- Apply primers, paints, coatings, and clear coats using conventional spray guns and airless paint spraying equipment
- Perform auto body repairs including welding, grinding, and surface refinishing to restore structural integrity and appearance
- Use automotive buffing tools and polishing techniques to achieve a smooth, high-gloss finish on painted surfaces
- Conduct surface preparation tasks such as masking and sanding to eliminate imperfections before painting
- Operate power tools like grinders and hand tools safely and efficiently during repair and refinishing processes
- Maintain a clean work environment by properly handling paints, solvents, and waste in accordance with safety protocols including respiratory protection measures
Requirements
- Proven experience in dealership or auto body shop environments as an automotive painter or refinisher
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform auto restoration, auto glass replacement, and vehicle maintenance tasks
- Skilled in surface preparation masking, sanding, and applying automotive paints using spray guns or airless systems
- Proficiency with hand tools, grinders, power tools, and buffing equipment necessary for auto body refinishing
- Knowledge of automotive surface preparation techniques and auto estimating processes preferred
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely during auto body repairs or when handling large vehicle parts
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality craftsmanship in auto painting and detailing processes
