What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Manager / Working Foreman position at Auto Body Shop?
We are looking for an experienced PRODUCTION MANAGER / WOKRING FOREMAN for our body shop in Chandler, AZ. Responsibilities:
- Working foreman responsible for daily production planning and execution
- Assist with light body work, sanding, masking, painting, buffing and detailing as needed
- Perform ongoing inspection of work in progress and completed repairs to ensure high quality
- Assign jobs and maintain appropriate job mix to assure smooth work flow through all departments
- Review individual work order with assigned technician
- Maintain organization of body shop tools and proper equipment function
- Ensure adequate materials and paint supplies are available for production
- Follow up with the Body Shop Manager to ensure availability of ordered parts
- Ensure on-time delivery
- Make hiring recommendations for production team members
- Establish performance goals for all production employees and makes recommendations for disciplinary actions up to and including termination
- Assure production environment is safe and clean, i.e., properly maintained equipment and personal protective equipment usage
- Follow federal, state and local regulations governing the disposal of hazardous waste
Background / Experience:
- Prior experience in the Auto Body industry
- Prior experience as a painter, painter’s helper and / or body man preferred
- Good verbal and written communications
- Ability to supervise and motivate production personnel
