What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional (DSP) position at Autism Community Services?
Available shifts: Per diem
Friday- Sunday
Job requirements:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration.
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors.
- Support individual in developing and maintaining social skills and relationships.
- Ensure the rights and dignity of individuals are respected and upheld.
-Transport individual for community outings.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or mental health challenges preferred.
-1 to 1 DSP experience preferred.
- Must have knowledge of autism spectrum disorder and be comfortable with applying behavior support.
- Ability to drive and possess a valid driver's license.
- First aid and CPR certification is a plus.
- Staff must be able to work on their own without direct supervision.
