As we continue to expand, we are seeking a dedicated Code Compliance Officer to ensure our projects and client sites meet all NYC regulatory requirements.
Position Overview
The Code Compliance Officer will support our field teams by reviewing DOB for active violations, elevator systems, maintenance records, and work activities for compliance with NYC Building Code, DOB Elevator Unit requirements, ASME A17.1, and related local regulations. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong knowledge of NYC compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Visiting DOB (NYC/other Jurisdictions) to submit paperwork, make payments and pick up documents associated with our clients.
- Review maintenance and test records to ensure they meet DOB and ASME standards.
- Identify and document violations; recommend corrective actions to our sales team.
- Assist in preparing/scheduling for DOB inspections and category testing (CAT-1, CAT-5).
- Collaborate with mechanics, project managers, and clients to resolve compliance issues.
- Maintain accurate, organized compliance records and inspection logs.
- Stay current with updates to NYC Building Code, ASME A17.1, and DOB regulatory bulletins.
Qualifications
- Experience in elevator compliance, building inspections, (NYC experience strongly preferred).
- Working knowledge of NYC DOB Elevator Unit regulations and ASME A17.1. (Preferred)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple inspections and reports.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
