Job Summary:
The Fabrication Associate is responsible for assembling, constructing, and fabricating products according to specifications and quality standards. This role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and adherence to safety protocols in a manufacturing or production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain fabrication tools, machinery, and equipment (e.g., welders, saws, drills, grinders, etc.).
- Fabricate components and materials according to blueprints, technical drawings, or verbal instructions.
- Measure, cut, and shape materials (e.g., metal) with precision.
Quality Assurance:
- Inspect finished products for defects and ensure they meet design specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor issues during the fabrication process.
Safety and Maintenance:
- Follow all safety guidelines and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
- Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment.
- Report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards promptly.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other team members to meet production deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with managers and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of materials used and tasks completed.
- Complete production and inspection reports as required.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical or trade school training preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing, construction, or fabrication is a plus.
Skills:
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift/move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Work Environment:
- Factory or workshop setting with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
