Responsibilities
• Develop a comprehensive synthesis of data regarding stock and fishery distribution trends for Mid-Atlantic Council managed species.
• Consult with fishery stakeholders to incorporate local ecological knowledge into the data synthesis.
• Synthesize available data to create a cohesive reference document.
• Develop a framework to monitor changes in species distributions and fishery locations.
• Work with the Oversight Team to identify species for testing indicators and metrics.
Requirements
• Graduate level degree in marine biology or related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience supporting stock assessments.
• Strong knowledge of fisheries policy, science, and data, particularly along the East Coast.
• Experience working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, scientists, and managers.
• Experience reviewing fishery data and scientific literature, with the ability to compile and synthesize large data sets.
• Familiarity with indicators and methodologies for assessing and monitoring changes in fisheries distributions.
