Material Handler - 1st Shift

SUMMARY

Processes all Receiving functions from unloading trailers, verification, sorting and placing inbound goods into correct area of the warehouse. Verifies all inbound documents are correct. Attention to detail is required for proper handling of the AG chemical inventory and hazmat process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Interacts with the freight carrier drivers to report missing or damaged freight.

· Inbound receiving items; raw materials and components.

· Confirm and enter data regarding received items in the system.

· Communicate issues and concerns regarding invoices to appropriate department.

· Interacts with multiple departments throughout the company, must be professional and courteous.

· Confirms all inbound shipments have the correct identification requirements.

· Processes inbound ground shipments and notifies warehouse area of deliveries.

· Delivers packages to staging area for distribution to office personnel.

· Cross-trains and assists all other warehouse functions and in other areas as needed.

· Strives for a zero (0) error rate.

· Must train on required forklifts and be certified to use forklifts by an AG certified trainer.

· Maximizes use of company time and resources.

· Uses ERP system and RF Scanner during the receiving process - has working knowledge of the ERP system.

· Cleans when needed.

· Shows up to work on time and does not abuse the attendance policy. Works mandatory overtime when assigned.

· Cross trains in other areas as needed.

· Other duties as assigned.

· This position is responsible for following all documented cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices), SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures), Work Instructions, and Policies designed to support the development, implementation, and control of the ISO 22716:2007 standard.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

· This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

· High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Must have experience using a forklift – sit down and standup.

· Must have intermediate computer skills.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

· Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

· May be asked to become forklift certified.
