Austin Wood Recycling (AWR) has rooted itself in service since 1987, cultivating a family-owned atmosphere in the pursuit of responsible stewardship of the land. Our goal is to give back to nature by recycling the collected materials from suburban and urban improvement projects using sustainable, environmentally friendly land-clearing practices.  We strive to respect our natural resources by recycling all organic material; thereby reducing environmental strain and preventing landfill waste.

About the Position

Job Brief

We are looking for an experienced Forklift Operator to join our growing team.  This position reports to the Pad or Autoline Supervisor.  Forklift Operators are assigned to transport palletized product from the production area to the inventory pad. Forklift Operators may also load flatbed trucks and customers as needed. We expect forklift operators to perform tasks in a safe and professional manner and to maintain a professional demeaner when engaging with customers and coworkers.

A successful candidate for this position will ensure that work is completed safely, on schedule and as directed. Key Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently transport palletized product via forklift from the production area to the inventory pad.
• Report all accidents and injuries, regardless of severity.
• Follow all standard operating procedures and processes related to transporting product within and from the autoline production area.
• Safety gear is required and expected to be worn at all times (safety toe shoes/boots, vest, hard hat, & gloves).
• Assume other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by management.

Qualifications & Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work /- 60 hours per week to include Saturdays with overtime (hours not guaranteed)

• Forklift/Spyder experience is required (certification is required).
• Bilingual a plus
• Must pass a drug screen.
• Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and walk for short periods.
• Must be able to bend and stoop throughout the workday (lifting mulch/soil bags, trash debris, etc).
• Must be able to climb and descend stairs and ladders.
• Must be able to work outside for periods of time in all weather.
• Must be able to work in a dusty environment (tolerate various types of work dust).
