As an Eyecare Advisor, you’ll join an energetic and compassionate team that has proudly served the Hudson Valley community for over 24 years. You’ll play a key role in providing comprehensive eye care to a large and diverse patient base — helping to enhance vision, health, and quality of life for every individual we serve.

- Comprehensive medical and routine eye exams for patients of all ages
- Advanced medical optometry and disease management
- Specialized contact lens fittings, including RGP and scleral lenses

Responsibilities (Not Limited to These alone)
Patient and Customer Service
- Greet and assist patients as they arrive for eye exams or to purchase eyewear.
- Provide friendly, professional, and informed service throughout their visit.
- Answer questions about products, services, and vision care procedures.
- Schedule and confirm appointments, either in person or over the phone.
- Handle patient check-in/check-out and update records accurately.
Eyewear Consultation and Sales
- Help patients choose frames that suit their prescription, lifestyle, and personal style.
- Explain lens options (e.g., single vision, bifocals, progressives, anti-glare, transitions, blue-light filters).
- Educate patients on coatings, materials, and benefits of premium lenses.
Technical and Optical Support
- Assist the optometrist by pre-testing patients (depending on office protocols).
Administrative and Office Duties
- Maintain patient records and data entry in optical management software.
- Process insurance claims or verify vision plan benefits.
- Keep display areas and frame boards organized and appealing.
- Handle phone calls, emails, and inventory management tasks.
- Maintain cleanliness and professional presentation of the optical area.
Teamwork and Professionalism
- Collaborate closely with optometrists, lab technicians, and front desk staff.
- Stay updated on new eyewear styles, lens technologies, and optical promotions.
- Support marketing or community outreach for the optical practice.
- Provide feedback to management on customer preferences and product performance.
Optional Clinical Tasks (in some practices)
- Conduct pre-exam screenings (visual acuity, tonometry, retinal imaging).
- Assist with contact lens training or follow-ups.
- Support the optometrist during busy times with patient flow coordination.
