Busy Pulmonary Specialty Practice Seeking an Experienced MA/PFT Tech
Austin Pulmonary Consultants is seeking a dependable, proactive, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant / Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) Technician to join our team.
The ideal candidate will preferably have previous Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) and/or Spirometry experience and be comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced specialty practice. This position requires excellent clinical skills, strong communication and organizational abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to changing workflows.

Primary Responsibilities
- Perform all required in-office pulmonary testing, including:
- Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT)
- Spirometry
- 6-Minute Walk Tests (6MWT)
- Create PFT orders for patients who require pulmonary testing
- Schedule PFTs for patients, including testing requested through outside orders.
- Ensure testing is performed accurately and according to established protocols.
- Accurately document testing, patient information, and clinical care in the EMR in a timely manner.
- Prepare patients for examinations and testing.
- Obtain and document patient histories and vital signs.
- Prepare and maintain exam and testing rooms, including stocking necessary supplies.
- Send physician orders and ensure appropriate follow-up.
- Review incoming faxes and handle them accurately and in a timely manner.
- Review patient information for accuracy and update records as needed.
- Provide overall clinical support to physicians and office management.
- Assist with general Medical Assistant responsibilities as needed.
- Occasionally travel between our William Cannon and W. Parmer Lane locations based on practice needs.
Qualifications & Skills
- Medical Assistant experience required; PFT/Spirometry experience strongly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate testing and documentation.
- Excellent communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced specialty practice.
- Strong customer service and patient-care skills.
- Comfortable learning and adapting to new processes and workflows.
- EMR experience required; eClinicalWorks (eCW) experience is a plus.
- Dependable, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrates professional integrity and respect toward all patients, providers, and staff members.
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities while maintaining accuracy and quality of patient care.

Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour
