Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Property Manager to support the daily operations of our property portfolio. Duties
- Assist in leasing activities, including property tours, application processing, and lease signing
- Support property maintenance coordination and oversee work orders using CMMS or OneSite systems
- Manage tenant communications via phone and email, ensuring high-quality customer service and conflict resolution
- Maintain accurate data entry, filing, and record keeping related to leases, contracts, and legal documentation
- Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations, landlord-tenant laws, and Section 8 guidelines
- Assist in rent collection, late notices, and upselling additional services or amenities to tenants
- Prepare legal documents and administrative reports related to property management activities
- Support lease renewals and negotiations to maximize occupancy rates
- Collaborate with facilities management to coordinate repairs and routine maintenance
- Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining tenant files
Requirements
- Proven experience in property management or real estate administrative roles
- Knowledge of LIHTC, Section 8, Landlord-Tenant law, Fair Housing regulations, and legal administrative procedures
- Proficiency with property management software such as Yardi, OneSite, or similar platforms
- Strong customer service skills with excellent phone etiquette and conflict management abilities
- Experience in leasing processes, contract management, and upselling amenities or services
- Office experience including data entry, filing systems, and administrative support functions
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent negotiation skills with a focus on tenant retention and satisfaction
- Facilities management knowledge for coordinating repairs and property upkeep
- Strong organizational skills complemented by effective communication skills in both written and verbal formats
