Girls Basketball Sub-Varsity Coach

Austin Preparatory School, located in Reading, Massachusetts about 20 miles north of Boston, has an immediate opening for the position of Girls Sub-Varsity Basketball Coach, beginning of Winter 2026. Founded in 1961, Austin Prep is a Catholic independent co-ed school serving students in grades 6-12. Austin Prep has a talented faculty of approximately 75 that administers a challenging curriculum that prepares students well for success in high school and college. Austin Preparatory School is seeking a Girls Sub-Varsity Basketball Coach for the 2026-2027 school year. The Sub-Varsity Coach provides administrative, instructional and support services under the direction of the Head Basketball Coach. Austin Prep is a member of the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC). Qualifications: •Previous playing and/or coaching experience in the sport preferred. •Ability to teach fundamental skills and develop student-athletes. •Commitment to Austin Prep's Augustinian mission and values. •Ability to work collaboratively with the varsity/head coach and Athletic Department. •Strong communication skills with student-athletes, families, and other coaches. •Ability to create a positive, inclusive, development-focused team environment. •Commitment to student-athlete safety and appropriate coach/student boundaries. •Dependability and willingness to attend scheduled practices and competitions. •Ability to follow all Austin Prep, NEPSAC, school, and sport-specific policies. •CPR/AED, First Aid, and concussion training as required.
