What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Project Controls Manager position at Austin Industrial, Inc.?
The purpose of this position is to provide governance, oversight, training and hands on support of project controls staff to perform a variety of jobsite administrative duties including, but not limited to, the following: estimating, budgeting, cost control, scheduling, quantity tracking, engineering design implementation, document control, month closeout, forecasting, subcontract management, procurement, and material expediting.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Administration & Planning
- Monitor project controls system on projects
- Support the establishment of various control processes for the project based on company procedures that need to align with client needs.
- Provide project mobilization and closeout support
- Audit the project’s control systems and ensure compliance with policy
- Assist project teams in preparing for successful audits
- Periodic confirmation that project teams are making contractual notices timely
- Report on untimely issuance of subcontracts
- Support the needs of the company’s standard quantity tracking systems based on project size and complexity.
- Ability to develop and maintain the trust of the subcontractors, ownership, and design team
- Effective working relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
- Help Deliver Project Controls and Operations related training
Cost Performance
- Assist and review project reporting is in accordance with corporate guidelines
- Analyze job cost statements and report on areas of poor cost performance
- Review Labor Cost Reports at regular intervals and provide overall feedback to Operations
- Review weekly man-hour productivity from quantity tracking software and evaluate anomalies
- Support month close effort for the division.
Planning/Scheduling
- Assist in the creation of and review of project planning and scheduling in accordance with corporate guidelines.
- Report on gaps is planning process, and support site teams in closing these gaps.
- Report on P6 schedule analytics, risks, gaps in logic and standard industry practices and support site teams in closing these gaps.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
Experience
- Minimum of 8 years of project controls management experience
- Complete understanding of all aspects of project controls (estimating, planning, scheduling, budget/cost control, change management, risk, communication, etc.)
- Ability to learn and train on company software (e.g., InEight, CMiC, Primavera P6, Excel, etc.)
- Administrative competency in Lump Sum and Reimbursable projects
Salary : $160,000 - $180,000
