Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Multi Licensed Fire Protection Inspector & Service Technician to join our dynamic team in La Porte, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, testing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of fire protection systems to ensure they operate reliably and remain compliant with NFPA standards and local regulations. Your expertise will help safeguard lives and property while supporting Austin Fire Systems' commitment to delivering industry-leading fire and life safety solutions.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform inspections, testing, maintenance, and repairs on fire sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, fire extinguishers, and backflow prevention devices
- Conduct inspections in accordance with NFPA standards and local/state regulations
- Troubleshoot and diagnose deficiencies within fire protection systems
- Complete detailed inspection reports and service documentation accurately and timely
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding system deficiencies, recommendations, and corrective actions
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and testing equipment
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations and company safety policies
- Work independently while managing multiple service calls and inspection schedules
- Participate in on-call rotations as required
- Deliver excellent customer service while maintaining Austin Fire Systems' quality standards
Job Requirements
To qualify for the Multi Licensed Fire Protection Inspector & Service Technician position, candidates should possess:
- Experience with fire sprinkler inspections and service
- Experience with fire alarm inspections and troubleshooting
- Current fire protection licenses and certifications
- NICET Certification
- Backflow Certification or willingness to obtain certification
- Strong knowledge of NFPA codes and standards
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and computer skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
