Restoration Technician

Austin Fire & Flood is hiring Restoration Technicians to help restore homes and businesses after water, fire, mold, and other property damage.

No restoration experience is required. If you're dependable, comfortable with physical work, and interested in learning the restoration industry, we'll provide paid hands-on training.

Every project is different. You'll work in the field alongside Project Managers and other technicians using professional restoration equipment to help customers recover after property damage.

What You'll Do

• Perform water damage mitigation and structural drying
• Set up, monitor, and remove drying equipment
• Take moisture readings and document job progress
• Assist with fire and smoke cleanup
• Perform mold remediation
• Complete demolition and job site preparation
• Clean and sanitize affected areas
• Work in residential and commercial properties
• Maintain equipment, vehicles, and work areas
• Communicate professionally with customers and teammates

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is dependable, willing to learn, and comfortable with hands-on physical work.

Requirements:

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Reliable transportation
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test
• Comfortable working in PPE, including respirators and protective suits
• Able to safely lift and move restoration equipment and materials
• Comfortable working in a variety of residential and commercial environments
• Professional communication with customers and teammates
• Dependable and available to work a full schedule when project volume requires it

Experience in restoration, construction, demolition, remodeling, or other trades is helpful, but not required.

Schedule & Hours

This is a full-time position requiring full-time availability, Monday through Friday, with participation in a rotating on-call schedule for evenings and weekends.

Because restoration work is driven by customer needs and emergency events, weekly hours are not guaranteed and may vary based on project volume. Some weeks may be lighter, while busy weeks may require 40 hours or more.

Technicians must have the flexibility and availability to work a full schedule when project volume requires it. On-call schedules are planned in advance and include an on-call stipend, plus overtime pay when applicable.
