Duties
- Assist with daily animal husbandry tasks, including feeding, watering, grooming, and health monitoring of livestock such as cattle,
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and heavy equipment like tractors, harvesters, and irrigation systems to support planting, harvesting, and land management activities
- Perform routine equipment repairs using hand tools, power tools, welding techniques, and basic maintenance procedures to ensure operational efficiency
- Manage irrigation systems and watering schedules to optimize crop growth and soil health across various fields or greenhouse environments
- Support planting, cultivating, pruning, and harvesting crops with horticultural expertise to promote healthy growth
- Handle heavy lifting tasks involving feed bags, hay bales, or equipment parts safely and efficiently
- Supervise or assist with other farm laborers as needed to ensure smooth workflow and safety compliance
Skills
- Proven supervising experience in agricultural settings or team-based farm operations
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and repairing farm machinery and equipment
- Strong animal husbandry skills with a focus on animal care and handling techniques
- Ability to operate forklifts, heavy machinery, power tools, and irrigation systems safely and effectively
- Hands-on experience with farming practices including planting, growing techniques, greenhouse management, and horticulture
- Knowledge of welding for equipment repair or modifications on the farm
- Familiarity with equine care if working with horses or related livestock
- Basic math skills for measurements, inventory tracking, and record keeping
- Experience with greenhouses or controlled environment agriculture is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining physical stamina for outdoor work in varying weather conditions
