SIPA Foreman

Position Summary

Austin Industrial is seeking an experienced SIPA Foreman to provide leadership, supervision, and coordination of field personnel engaged in SIPA (Scaffold, Insulation, Painting, and Abatement) activities on industrial construction, maintenance, and turnaround projects. The SIPA Foreman is responsible for ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards, client requirements, and project schedules.

The successful candidate will lead crews in daily operations, maintain productivity goals, ensure quality workmanship, and promote Austin Industrial's commitment to safety excellence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct SIPA craft personnel, including Scaffold Builders, Insulators, Painters, and other assigned workers.
• Plan, coordinate, and sequence daily work activities to meet project schedules and productivity targets.
• Conduct daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and job hazard analyses.
• Ensure compliance with Austin Industrial safety policies, client requirements, OSHA regulations, and site-specific procedures.
• Monitor workforce productivity and quality of work performed.
• Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, and tools required for daily operations.
• Read and interpret project drawings, work packages, specifications, and schedules.
• Work closely with Superintendents, Project Managers, planners, and client representatives to support project objectives.
• Identify and resolve field issues that may impact safety, quality, or project schedules.
• Track and report daily progress, manpower utilization, and production metrics.
• Inspect completed work to verify compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
• Mentor and develop craft employees through ongoing coaching, training, and performance management.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and maintenance of assigned work areas.
• Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective actions as required.
• Support turnaround, maintenance, capital project, and outage activities as needed.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 5 years of industrial SIPA experience, including leadership responsibilities.
• Demonstrated experience supervising scaffold, insulation, and/or painting crews in petrochemical, refinery, power generation, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of industrial construction and maintenance practices.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and industrial safety standards.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work specifications.
• Effective leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adapt to changing project requirements.
• Proficient in completing daily reports, timekeeping, and production documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Foreman experience on industrial maintenance or turnaround projects.
• NCCER Craft Certification or equivalent industry certification.
• OSHA 30-Hour Certification.
• Scaffold Competent Person certification.
• Experience working in refineries, chemical plants, LNG facilities, or power plants.
• CPR/First Aid certification.

Employees must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and meet all customer, site, regulatory, medical, and fitness-for-duty requirements applicable to the position.
