The Continuing Education (CE) division of Austin Community College is proud to partner with churches, community centers, schools and other community organizations to offer courses in high demand construction trades in Austin and surrounding areas.
Job Summary We are seeking motivated and skilled Welders to join our team as instructors . The ideal candidate will have a strong welding knowledge and the ability to fabricate and maintain various metal structures. This role requires proficiency in welding techniques. These instructors will travel to different locations to offer training to residents in the Greater Austin Area.
Duties
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean work environment.
- Weld various materials using MIG, TIG, stick and flux welding techniques.
- Maintain equipment and tools in optimal working condition, performing routine inspections and repairs as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure quality standards are met
- Educate and mentor students in proper techniques and safety practices within the classroom setting.
- Maintain an accurate timesheet on a daily basis
- Communicate with the coordinator to request consumables, equipment repairs and other requests in a timely manner to minimize impact on teaching classes
- Able to follow the syllabus of the class

Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Welding: 5 years (Preferred)
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
Work Location: In person in greater Austin area
Qualifications - Proven experience as a Welder, with a strong portfolio of completed projects. - Mechanical knowledge is essential for troubleshooting and maintaining equipment. - Familiarity with adult education principles is a plus for those interested in teaching others. - Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. - Excellent problem-solving skills and logical thinking abilities. - Certification in welding or related fields is preferred but not mandatory.
