Austin Classical School is a classical, Christian, collaborative school in Austin, Texas, serving

PreKindergarten through 12th grade. Austin Classical School exists to glorify Jesus Christ by

co-laboring with families to cultivate wise, virtuous, and humble students through an excellent

classical, Christian education.

In our collaborative model, Grammar School students (PreK-4th) are on campus two days per week

(M/W), School of Logic students (5th-8th) are on campus three days per week (M/W/Th), and School

of Rhetoric students (9th-12th) are on campus four days per week (M-Th). On the remaining

weekdays, students are at home completing assigned work independently or under the guidance of

their co-teaching parents.

Role Description

This is a part-time (M/W only), on-site Grammar School Teacher position based in Austin, TX. The teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons, fostering a love for learning in students, and integrating Classical education principles into daily teaching. Responsibilities include developing tailored educational content, managing classroom activities, assessing student progress, and maintaining effective communication with both students and parents to uphold the school’s mission and values.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in lesson planning and teaching to create and deliver effective and engaging educational content.
• Strong abilities in communication and education to work collaboratively with students, parents, and faculty members for a successful learning environment.
• Experience in training or mentoring to support and guide students in their academic and personal growth.
• Commitment to upholding the principles of Classical education and integrating them into lesson delivery.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field is required; teaching certification is preferred.
• Prior experience in a classroom setting, particularly with elementary-age children, is an advantage.
• Dedication to fostering a Christ-centered and positive learning environment. All applicants must be able to affirm the ACS Statement of Faith.

Starting salary for the position is $21,500 and may increase depending upon level of education and

relevant experience. Teachers are paid twice a month from August through May.
