STOCKBRIDGE Admissions Clinician The Admissions Clinician at Austen
Riggs Center (ARC) serves as the initial point of contact for potential
patients, families, and referring clinicians. This role will support the
patient\'s experience by offering information about all aspects of
patient care including community and treatment offerings, financial
implications, and general inquiries about ARC and its open setting
environment. The clinician engages patients in a pre-admission intake
interview while gathering and synthesizing collateral clinical to
support the ultimate decision about case appropriateness. The clinician
is responsible for creating a welcoming and seamless admission process
across the organization for incoming patients and families. Job Duties &
Responsibilities: Engage positively with incoming and potential
patients, families and referring clinicians. Documents all pre-admission
contact and conversations. Responds to referral requests. Manages the
pre-admission process. Schedules and coordinates admissions
consultations Coordinates and leads patient and family tours of the
facility. Engages potential patients, involved family members, and
referring clinicians in the admission process to screen for clinical fit
and appropriateness for the setting. Gathers complete clinical, medical,
and financial data for the admissions officer to determine
appropriateness of admission. Engages in outreach efforts, including
semi-regular involvement in referral relations meetings and events, and
occasional travel related to outreach efforts. Supports insurance
authorization processes as needed. Requirements: Master\'s degree in
social science, Nursing or Social Work preferred. Minimum 2 years\'
clinical experience or experience in psychiatric hospital. Comfortable
handling stressful situations and providing clear, calm support for
potential patients and families. Strong phone and computer skills.
Proficient in office 365 products and Electronic Health Records
databases Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and part of a greater team. Ability to
maintain confidentiality and support patient rights.
