Position Description:

Austen Construction Laborers work in a diversified mix of projects supporting and must work closely with HVAC (Austen Air Conditioning) and electrical trades in the Austen Electric Company working in a specialized field providing electrical services and support to elevator companies. The Laborer works directly for a Foreman. The Construction Laborer must demonstrate a solid background in the field and training and certifications should demonstrate full knowledge and ability to follow job site safety protocols.

Duties may include and not be limited to: preparing job sites for work by removing debris either by hand or using machinery and tools; constructing temporary structures, such as scaffolding, to ensure that workers can access all areas of the site; loading and unloading supplies and components; helping plumbers, framers, and electricians. There are occasions where the laborer provides additional support. While these tasks can vary from situation to situation, laborers often need to jump in to lend a hand while on-site.

Construction Laborers also help maintain site safety throughout the construction process by maintaining equipment, clearing dangerous debris from the site, and cleaning up materials contractors leave behind. Laborers must be in good physical condition and contain stamina.

Additional Qualifications:

• High school diploma or diploma in a skilled trade (electrician, carpenter etc.)
• Works well with a diverse group of people; strong work ethic and moral character
• Some written and verbal communicative skills
• Must meet and maintain Austen Enterprises’ minimum insurance requirements
• This position requires a successful completion of a drug screening
• This position requires a successful MVR check
• Valid Driver’s License
• Maintain a professional relationship with the general contractor, engineers, and inspectors to facilitate job progress and to promote a positive company image

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $11.00 - $22.50 per hour
