Experienced Surgical Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) – Full-Time

At Aurora Veterinary Clinic, we are seeking an experienced Surgical Registered Veterinary Technician who is passionate about anesthesia, surgery, patient care, and advancing veterinary medicine. What You'll Do
As a Surgical RVT, you will play a critical role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care from admission through recovery.
Surgical & Anesthesia Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for routine and advanced surgical procedures
- Calculate anesthetic protocols and administer pre-medications
- Induce, monitor, and recover patients under anesthesia
- Monitor ECG, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, capnography, temperature, and ventilation
- Anticipate surgical team needs and maintain sterile technique
- Assist with soft tissue, dental, and specialty procedures
- Manage pain control protocols and post-operative care plans
- Recognize and respond appropriately to anesthetic emergencies
Technical & Patient Care Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, and sample collection
- Run and interpret in-house laboratory diagnostics
- Obtain high-quality digital radiographs
- Assist with dental procedures and dental radiography
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments
- Maintain accurate medical records and anesthesia logs
- Educate clients regarding surgical procedures, recovery, and at-home care
- Collaborate with doctors and team members to deliver exceptional patient care
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
- Current RVT, CVT, or LVT credential
- Minimum 2 years of veterinary technician experience
- Strong anesthesia monitoring and surgical assisting skills
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to patient safety and high medical standards

- Proficient in dental radiology and dental procedures
