At Aurora Veterinary Clinic, we are seeking an experienced Surgical Registered Veterinary Technician who is passionate about anesthesia, surgery, patient care, and advancing veterinary medicine. What You'll Do

As a Surgical RVT, you will play a critical role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care from admission through recovery.

Surgical & Anesthesia Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for routine and advanced surgical procedures
• Calculate anesthetic protocols and administer pre-medications
• Induce, monitor, and recover patients under anesthesia
• Monitor ECG, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, capnography, temperature, and ventilation
• Anticipate surgical team needs and maintain sterile technique
• Assist with soft tissue, dental, and specialty procedures
• Manage pain control protocols and post-operative care plans
• Recognize and respond appropriately to anesthetic emergencies

Technical & Patient Care Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, and sample collection
• Run and interpret in-house laboratory diagnostics
• Obtain high-quality digital radiographs
• Assist with dental procedures and dental radiography
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments
• Maintain accurate medical records and anesthesia logs
• Educate clients regarding surgical procedures, recovery, and at-home care
• Collaborate with doctors and team members to deliver exceptional patient care

What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications

• Current RVT, CVT, or LVT credential
• Minimum 2 years of veterinary technician experience
• Strong anesthesia monitoring and surgical assisting skills
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Commitment to patient safety and high medical standards

• Comfortable managing multiple surgical patients throughout the day
• Proficient in dental radiology and dental procedures
• Confident in performing technical skills independently
