Position Purpose
The Systems Administrator supports learning by maintenance of existing software applications and development of new applications in support of management information needs of Aurora University and various university departments.

Position Purpose
The Systems Administrator supports learning by maintenance of existing software applications and development of new applications in support of management information needs of Aurora University and various university departments.

- Supports learning through performance of essential job functions and performing other duties and functions as necessary or as assigned.
- Develop, maintain and support AU’s Learning Management System (LMS) and Administrative Systems that are used by AU students and faculty.
- Develop, maintain and support for Windows / Linux (RHEL/CentOS), Nutanix, Cloud Based systems, and Storage Infrastructure.
- Develop, maintain and support system backups
- Create and maintain server and system documentation.
- Develop, maintain and support the ITS website and other related sites.
- Administer and support the physical security system
- Collaborate with ITS team to plan, implement, and support system design changes and updates for existing and new systems
- Monitor applications and systems.
- Provide after-hours support for infrastructure and application escalated situations as well as occasional weekend maintenance.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.
- A , MCSA / MCSE, or CCNA preferred.
- Minimum one year experience supporting Linux and Windows based servers.
- Working knowledge of server and storage hardware.
- Administration and deployment of open-source applications.
- Experience with Cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, GCP and administration of SaaS based applications
- Intimately familiar with configuring and managing a full stack (i.e. LAMP, MEAN, etc.) preferred.
- Training end users on applications preferred.
- Administering systems from the command line and scripting with PowerShell, BASH, and Python preferred.
- Excellent written, oral, and presentation communication skills
- Active Directory, Nutanix, Storage (SAN) administration
- Quick learner with great prioritization skills
- Working knowledge of using AI based tools for systems administration
- Ability to work independently and be dependable
- Ability to accept divergent views while maintaining a constructive working relationship with other team members;
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 pounds. Travel to alternate sites as needs demand.
