This is a full-time, on-site role located in Aurora, CO, for an Affective Needs Teacher-Special Education. The role focuses on designing and implementing specialized lesson plans tailored to meet the emotional, social, and academic needs of students with disabilities. Daily responsibilities include delivering differentiated instruction, maintaining effective communication with students, families, and staff, managing classroom behavior, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to create individualized education plans (IEPs). The teacher will also provide guidance and training to support students' learning and emotional development.
Qualifications
- Skills in Lesson Planning and curriculum development tailored to students with diverse needs
- Background in Education, including methods for special education students
- Strong Communication skills to coordinate with families, staff, and multidisciplinary teams
- Teaching and classroom management skills to foster a supportive learning environment
- Ability to deliver Training or guidance to students in emotional and behavioral strategies
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field
- Valid Colorado teaching license with endorsements in Special Education or Affective Needs (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience working with students with disabilities is preferred
- Skills in fostering emotional and social growth in a school setting
