Aurora Plains Academy is seeking a Training and Development Coordinator to support staff development and training in our residential treatment program for youth. This position is ideal for someone with experience working with youth in residential care who is passionate about teaching, coaching, and helping staff succeed.
As the Training and Development Coordinator, you will lead employee training programs, coordinate onboarding, facilitate crisis intervention training, and help ensure staff are prepared to provide safe, effective care for the youth we serve.
What You'll Do:
- Coordinate and deliver new employee orientation and ongoing staff training
- Lead crisis prevention and intervention training programs
- Become certified and serve as a Safe Crisis Management (SCM) Instructor
- Track and maintain training records and compliance requirements
- Support staff development and performance improvement initiatives
- Assist with implementation of policies, procedures, and best practices
- Participate in on-call responsibilities as needed
- Promote a safe and positive environment for youth and staff

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; Human Services-related field preferred
- Associate degree in Social Work may be considered
- Ability to obtain an Associate Social Worker (ASW) license within required timelines
- Minimum two years of experience working directly with youth in a residential or group care setting
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation
- Willingness to become a certified Safe Crisis Management (SCM) Instructor
- Ability to participate in and lead hands-on training activities
- Ability to pass required background screenings
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
