Aurex Group is partnered with a leading energy transition platform seeking an Investment Associate to join their Commercial team. This individual will support the evaluation and execution of strategic investments and acquisitions across the renewable energy and power sectors.
This role will work closely with senior leadership to identify and analyze new opportunities, support M&A execution, and drive portfolio growth through detailed commercial and financial assessments.
This is an excellent opportunity to step into a high-visibility role on a lean, dynamic team with exposure to strategic decision-making and long-term value creation in the energy transition space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct financial and strategic due diligence for potential acquisitions and joint ventures across North America
- Build and review detailed financial models to assess valuation, structure, and return metrics
- Support negotiations and execution of transaction documents in coordination with legal and commercial teams
- Collaborate with internal development, finance, and operations teams to evaluate growth opportunities within the portfolio
Qualifications:
- 2–4 years of experience in corporate development, M&A, or principal investing within the energy or infrastructure sector
- Background in evaluating renewable energy, energy storage, or infrastructure assets is preferred
- Strong understanding of energy markets, project development lifecycles, and project finance principles
- Proficiency in financial modeling (DCF, three-statement), with working knowledge of VBA/Macros a plus
