But what’s most shocking is 60-80% of the calls 9-1-1 operators take aren’t even emergencies. What You’ll Be Doing:
- Manage a team of software engineers at varying levels of experience.
- Partner closely across the organization to design, build, and deploy key product features.
- Bring clarity and structure to complex problems, ensuring engineering efforts align with long-term goals and measurable outcomes.
- Support individual growth through mentorship, regular feedback, and career development.
- Collaborate with leadership to set priorities, define strategy, and deliver against company objectives.
- Foster a culture of ownership, communication, accountability, and technical rigor across the team.
- Prior experience as a software engineer and currently in a management position.
- A strong sense of ownership and attention to quality in execution and output.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional engineering teams and deliver high-quality releases.
- Strong understanding of business goals and the ability to translate them into actionable engineering plans.
- Experience mentoring, managing performance, and supporting professional growth.
- A bias for action - capable of making informed decisions and driving progress amid ambiguity.
- Experience recruiting and growing teams across multiple technical disciplines.
- Excellent communication and planning skills, with the ability to anticipate risks and provide clear direction.
- Experience working in a startup or fast-growing environment.
