Warehouse Laborer

Position Summary

The Warehouse Laborer (Record Center Specialist) performs physically demanding work involving the handling, movement, and storage of boxes and materials. This role requires frequent bending, kneeling, lifting, and carrying of heavy items in a warehouse environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Process orders and move boxes containing files, books, binders, backup tapes, and other materials.
• Manually lift, carry, and arrange boxes while standing, stooping, crawling, kneeling, and twisting.
• Load and unload boxes using hand carts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.
• Read labels, track orders, and process incoming and outgoing materials.
• Use a proprietary computer system to locate and track boxes.
• Operate handheld scanners.
• Load and shrink-wrap pallets at ground level or on carts.
• Load boxes onto pallets and pallets onto trucks manually and with material-handling aids.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• Frequent kneeling, squatting, reaching, bending, climbing, and balancing on ladders.
• Ability to walk and work on uneven and concrete surfaces.
• Must be able to lift and carry boxes weighing 10–100 lbs regularly without assistance.
• Ability to grip, push, pull, and carry materials for extended periods, including up and down stairs and inclines.
• Must be able to read and write in English.

Safety Requirements

• Protective footwear is required.
  Footwear must meet ASTM F2413-11 safety toe standards and have a slip-resistant rating of “Better” or “Best.”
