Job Summary
Auntie Kia’s Daycare is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Custodian to ensure the facility is maintained at the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and sanitation. This position plays a critical role in supporting a healthy environment for children, staff, and families.
This is a split-shift position, requiring availability during both morning and evening hours each day.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all classrooms, restrooms, kitchen areas, and common spaces
- Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and disinfecting
- Sanitize toys, equipment, and high-touch surfaces in accordance with childcare health standards
- Remove trash and ensure proper waste disposal procedures are followed
- Monitor and restock cleaning and hygiene supplies as needed
- Assist with scheduled deep cleaning and periodic facility maintenance
- Maintain entryways and exterior areas to ensure a clean and safe appearance
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation regulations at all times
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous custodial or janitorial experience is preferred, but not required
- Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 35 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Must be reliable, punctual, and maintain consistent attendance
- Ability to follow structured cleaning procedures and schedules
Requirements
- Must pass required background screenings, including CPS and APS clearance
- Must be able to work a daily split shift schedule
- Must be comfortable working in a childcare environment
- Pre-employment physical may be required
Work Schedule (Split Shift)
- Morning Shift: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- Evening Shift: 5:00 PM – 7:30 Pm
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $9.00 - $10.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
