Mobile Crisis Responder
Location: Park Forest, IL
Schedule: Full-Time (Evenings & Weekends Required)
Pay Range: $16.82 – $20.19/hour (based on experience)

This is a hands-on, fast-paced role for professionals who remain calm under pressure, lead with empathy, and are motivated by meaningful, real-time impact.
Position Summary
The Mobile Crisis Responder provides in-person crisis intervention services to youth under the age of 21 experiencing significant mental health emergencies that may pose a risk to themselves or others. Responders deliver immediate assessment, stabilization, safety planning, and connection to ongoing care to prevent escalation and unnecessary hospitalization.
What You’ll Do
Respond to crisis referrals within Designated Service Area (DSA) #25
Accept and respond to CARES line referrals on a no-decline basis
Arrive in person within 90 minutes of referral receipt
Conduct screenings and assessments using the Illinois Medicaid Crisis Assessment Tool (IM-CAT)
Provide immediate crisis stabilization, de-escalation, and short-term intervention
Develop short-term crisis and safety plans with youth and families
Coordinate reunification, family-generated placement, or psychiatric hospitalization when necessary
Complete all crisis documentation accurately and in real time
Collaborate with Care Coordinators and participate in short-term Child & Family Team (CFT) involvement for Pathways clients
Provide follow-up, linkage, and referrals to appropriate community resources
Maintain on-call availability during scheduled shifts
Participate in supervision, team meetings, trainings, and community outreach efforts
Comply with all Illinois mandated reporting laws and agency protocols

What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related human services field required
Minimum 1 year of experience working with at-risk youth and/or crisis response
Additional Requirements
Availability for evenings, weekends, and flexible scheduling
Ability to transport clients using a personal vehicle
Strong documentation, communication, and de-escalation skills
Openness to feedback and continuous professional growth
Licensure & Documentation
Valid Illinois driver’s license with a clean driving record
