What are the responsibilities and job description for the Computer Shop - IT Support - Level 2 position at Aum Computers?
We are looking for an experienced Computer Technician to install, maintain and repair computers, printers, tablets, phones and networks. As a computer technician you are required to be well-versed in computer systems (hardware & software) and network functions. The ideal candidate will need to have 3 years of experience, be able to work professionally, accurately and will possess a great efficient problem-solving ability in order to fix issues and ensure functionality.
Responsibilities
- Take phone calls, attend to new customers walking into shop, make/update tickets.
- Via in-person/remote, diagnose and repair computer related software and hardware problems
- Replace computer components, technological equipment or peripherals and configure software and drivers
- Troubleshoot and repair/replace routers and other related network devices
- Manage security options and software in computers and networks to maintain privacy and protection from attacks
- Troubleshoot and perform regular upgrades (Windows, Apple, Android systems) to ensure systems remain updated
- Troubleshoot system failures or bugs and provide solutions to restore functionality
- Arrange maintenance sessions to discover and mend inefficiencies
- Keep records of repairs and fixes for future reference
- Invoice tickets and collect payment.
- Offer timely technical support and teach users how to utilize computers correctly
- Be able to drive and make trips outside of shop (you will be compensated for your time and use of vehicle)
- Be able to work on Saturdays
Skills
- 3 years proven experience as computer technician or similar role
- Experience with networking : routers, LAN/WLAN/WAN, Wi-Fi printers
- Thorough knowledge of computer systems and IT components (computers, printers, routers, IT peripherals)
- Thorough knowledge of opening and replacing components in computers, phones and tablets.
- Thorough knowledge of IT software and troubleshooting such as Windows, Microsoft office, Outlook, Quicken, Quickbooks, Apple IOS, Mail, Exchange, imap/pop mail setup)
- Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
- Very good communication, active listening, relationship building and selling skills
- Exceptional organizing and time-management skills
- Relevant certifications (e.g. CompTIA Network ) will be an advantage

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
