COURIER PATIENT TRANSPORT - OUTSIDE TRANSPORT

Posting dates for internal transfers: April 3, 2025, through April 5, 2025 # BASIC FUNCTION: To provide safe and timely transportation of patients from their home to hospital tests, and procedures and back. To provide safe and timely transportation for the delivery of supplies, specimens, drugs and paperwork to other hospitals, physicians# offices, nursing homes and other facilities.# # JOB DUTIES: Transport patients to test and/or procedures at the hospital, Outpatient Therapy or Wound Care, making sure they are as comfortable as possible. To pick up and deliver bank deposit, mail, supplies, specimens, drugs and paperwork on a timely basis. Retrieval of needed supplies and equipment from storeroom, pharmacy and radiology. Make trips as requested, by pharmacy, lab, radiology, purchasing and/or other departments as needed. Make sure transport vehicle and equipment is clean (interior and exterior) and in good repair. Make sure transport vehicle and equipment is safety checked daily. Maintain an accurate log of all transports performed and/or courier activities each day. Responsible for checking emails and online learning assignments (Relias) on a regular basis. Must be computer literate to complete task(s) as required. Such as MediTech/Cerner (Hospital Support Software), Halogen (performance appraisal system) Relias (education system), ability to retrieve e-mails, complete online enrollment for health insurance/benefits and any other programs as assigned Must be at least 21 years of age and have a minimum of two years licensed driving experience to be a driver for hospital owned vehicles. # SKILLS REQUIRED: Ability to work and communicate with others, must be self motivated, ability to work without direct supervision # PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift minimum of 50lbs., be able to walk, stand, and/or sit for long periods of time as well as be able to help people in and out of vehicles as needed through the course of the workday. # RESPONSIBLE TO: Director of Outside Transport Services # This description is intended to describe the essential job duties and the essential requirements for the performance of this job. #
